We’re thrilled to invite you to a special screening of THE MECCA, a compelling coming-of-age film that follows an awkward Black boy as he navigates the culture shock of transitioning from a predominantly white prep school to a prestigious HBCU. As he begins to discover love, he must also confront his identity and sense of belonging in an unfamiliar yet culturally rich environment.
The screening will be followed by a talkback with the film’s director, Tevin Scott, and Charlotte-based filmmaker and IPH Board Member, John Burton, Jr.
