A film about why you should join a club—and why the fate of America may depend on it. Follow the story of America’s civic unraveling through the work of Robert Putnam, whose legendary Bowling Alone findings light a path out of our democracy’s crisis.

This screening will take place at the Sarah Belk Gambrell Center for the Arts and Civic Engagement in the Kathryn Greenhoot Recital Hall (2319 Wellesley Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28274).

This screening is in partnership with Queens University of Charlotte as part of their 2026 Connected Campus series, “The Wellness Quest: Creative Pathways to Healing” — an arts-driven journey through experiences designed to restore, inspire, and reconnect the body, mind, and spirit. Rather than offering a single definition of wellness, the series invites participants to explore multiple pathways—creative expression, sound, science, mindfulness, storytelling—and discover what resonates for them.
