Join IPH at the University City Regional Library for a Teen Anime Series that uses film as a community-building outlet, offering a welcoming space for teens to connect, share interests, and engage in conversations around storytelling, culture, and creativity.

When bored teenagers search for thrills, sometimes the only answer is rock ’n’ roll. With no musical training, no money, and even an incomplete drum set, a notorious trio of high school delinquents decides they are destined for musical greatness. Their mission: impress their only friend Aya, avoid a rival gang, and, most importantly, make some noise.

Animated almost entirely by director Kenji Iwaisawa and featuring a lead performance by Japanese alt-rock legend Shintaro Sakamoto, On-Gaku: Our Sound offers a highly original take on the slacker comedy genre. This lo-fi buddy film builds toward a powerful, electrifying musical finale that will leave audiences wanting an immediate encore.
