Food, Inc. 2 – One-Night-Only Theatrical Screening Event

Opens on April 9

Director: Melissa Robledo, Robert Kenner Run Time: 94 min. Release Year: 2023

On Tuesday, April 9th,  join us for a special one-night-only theatrical event screening of FOOD, INC. 2, the follow-up to the groundbreaking Oscar®-nominated documentary we released back in 2009.

In the sequel, filmmakers Robert Kenner and Melissa Robledo reunite with investigative authors Michael Pollan (The Omnivore’s Dilemma) and Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation) to take a fresh look at our food system. Back in 2009, the original film ignited a cultural conversation about the multinational corporations that control our food system at enormous cost to our planet, workforce, and health. FOOD, INC. 2 comes “back for seconds” to reveal how corporate consolidation has gone unchecked by our government, leaving us with a highly efficient yet shockingly vulnerable food system dedicated toward increasing profits.

*Followed by a talkback with Carolina Farm Trust CEO Zach Wyatt & Registered Dietitian Nutritionist; Chef Patricia Pitts, Board Chair of The Bulb.  Carolina Farm Trust’s mission is to strengthen local food systems in the Carolinas, from production to consumption. The Bulb is a donation-based and nonprofit mobile farmers market, whose mission is to provide fresh produce that is grown by local farmers, as well as produce rescued from area grocery stores to food insecure communities in and around Charlotte. The talkback discussion will be led by Hardin Minor, founder of Charlotte Earth Day.
