Experience a powerful story of compassion, resilience, and community in this moving documentary screening. The film follows Woody Faircloth and his dedicated team of volunteers at EmergencyRV as they travel to North Carolina in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, delivering fully equipped RVs to families who have lost everything. What unfolds is an intimate portrait of hope in the face of devastation—where small acts of kindness become lifelines for those rebuilding their lives.

Recognized with an Honorable Mention at the Touchstone Independent Film Festival (February 2026), this documentary captures the human spirit at its most vulnerable and most generous. With support from renowned humanitarian Chef José Andrés, EmergencyRV’s mission comes to life through real stories of survival, dignity, and recovery.

Directed, filmed, and edited by James David Gabriel, and produced by Whistlebird Productions, the film sheds light on an urgent reality: for many disaster survivors, shelter is not just a need—it’s the first step toward healing.

*Join us on Sunday, May 24th for a post-screening discussion featuring Woody Faircloth of EmergencyRV and Luna Faircloth, who inspired the nonprofit and its initial work in California; James David Gabriel, documentary filmmaker; and Jessica Lefkowitz of Hearts for the Invisible, the lead street outreach agency for Mecklenburg County, supporting individuals and families experiencing unsheltered homelessness.

The discussion will be moderated by Jenny Ward, IPH board member.

The event will also include a live performance featuring Alex Ball and the Cornbread Blues Band.
