Reconnect with the natural world and your creative voice at this free Nature Walk & Poetry Writing experience. Participants will be guided through a gentle outdoor walk, pausing to observe, reflect, and write in response to the landscape. Whether you are an experienced writer or simply curious, this event invites you to slow down, listen closely, and translate what you notice into language.

Throughout the walk, participants will engage with prompts inspired by The Song of Everything: A Poet’s Exploration of South Carolina’s State Parks by Glenis Redmond. Redmond’s work models how poetry can emerge from careful attention to place, history, and ecology, encouraging writers to consider how landscape holds memory, story, and spirit.

Join us for a restorative and generative experience that blends movement, mindfulness, and creative expression in community. No prior writing experience is necessary—just bring something to write with and a willingness to explore.

“The Song of Everything: A Poet’s Exploration of South Carolina’s State Parks is a collection by Greenville’s first Poet Laureate, Glenis Redmond. It features poems inspired by her visits to South Carolina’s state parks with her grandson, Julian, during the COVID-19 pandemic. This pocket-sized collection explores the connection between nature and the inner self, encouraging readers to find wonder and life lessons in the natural world. The book also includes illustrations by Alexander Rouse.”
