Floyd Norman is a pioneering American animator, widely recognized as Disney’s first Black animator. He contributed to classic films such as Sleeping Beauty and The Jungle Book. After leaving Disney in 1966, he co-founded Vignette Films, a studio dedicated to producing animated educational films highlighting Black history. Norman later returned to Disney and went on to work with major studios including Pixar and Hanna-Barbera, contributing to both classic and contemporary projects. In 2007, he was honored as a Disney Legend and continues to remain active in the industry today.
