The film follows Oscar and his family as they overcome great obstacles as undocumented immigrants. Oscar’s father, Armando, left Mexico to work in the tobacco fields in North Carolina in order to financially support his family. At the age of three, Oscar was brought to the states by his mother. They were separated at the border and Oscar’s mother, Angelica, had to run for miles in the dead of night in order to be reunited with her son. Once in America, the journey was just beginning for the family. The film continues as it covers the present day challenges that Oscar and his parents face.
