International Noir Film Series

While the inception and development of Film Noir is synonymous with the hard-boiled cynicism of the WWII and post-WWII era of American crime films, the tentacles of this highly charged and influential style of crime film have reached all over the world. Between March and July, “International Noir” will showcase five unique and exciting crime films to explore how international filmmakers have used the innovative visuals, themes, and stylistic traits of Noir cinema to explore their own country’s identities, as well as its dark recesses.
