The Independent Picture House is celebrating its third anniversary, and we want you there! To celebrate three wonderful years in Charlotte, IPH will have:

  • Free screenings of The Artist on June 28 and 29
  • Screenings of Memoria starting June 24
  • Posters for sale featuring films that IPH has shown over the last three years
  • The winning design (see above) from our annual poster contest, on sale now

Memoria was one of the first films screened at the cinema, and since its release in 2021, it has only been available in cinemas. We are excited to give our audience an opportunity once again to discover this unique film.

More about The Artist: The setting is Hollywood in 1927. As silent-movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion, he sparks with Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. IPH appreciates the film for its “breath of fresh vintage air.” This timeless piece of art is waiting for you to experience it on the big screen — for free — at IPH.

Have you ever seen a movie poster at IPH that you wish was yours? Well, then, don’t forget to check out the poster sale. We will be clearing our stock of movie posters from the last three years. Simply ask a staff member at the concession stand about the sale to get a look at the selection, see the prices and take some home with you!

Signed prints of this year’s winning poster design will go on sale starting June 24. T-shirts — with the design on the front and a list of films screened this year — will go on sale starting June 28.

Enjoy a day at the cinema for IPH’s anniversary. It’s the best gift you could give us — your presence!
