Indie on Wheels is back and promises to be an unforgettable experience for anyone looking to embrace the spirit of community through creativity.

On March 19, IPH’s Indie on Wheels will screen State of the Art. This PBS documentary features more than 200 works of modern art curated by the renowned Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Interwoven in the film are seven remarkable artists who embody the diverse landscape of creative expression across America. The event will take place at the Independence Regional Library with screening starting at 6pm.

What is Indie on Wheels?

It’s an IPH initiative that takes arthouse and independent cinema out into the community, reducing barriers of transportation and sparking conversation and engagement. Indie on Wheels is sponsored by Culture Blocks, a partnership between the Arts & Science Council, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation.

Why should you attend?

Indie on Wheels is a great platform for bringing people together to watch interesting films. It is a space where camaraderie thrives and ideas flow.

Following the screening of State of the Art, guest speakers will lead a discussion on art as an outlet for creativity and self care. They include Amy L. Campbell, a mental health advocate and creator of The Bridges Project; Kate McAllister, executive director of the Charlotte Art League; and Norma Starling-Brown, founder of Sweet Imalda’s Vegan Bakery.
